Met gala 2013

Fashion’s elite went punk for the evening at Monday night's Met gala, the fundraiser at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art that's affectionately known as "the party of the year."

Check out the best and worst red carpet looks from fashion's biggest night!!

Cara Delevingne (my fav outfit): The British supermodel (and face of Burberry) wore a studded black Burberry dress, bag, and shoes —and debuted a half-shaved head.

Sienna Miller in a studded leather jacket and white gown by Burberry.

Blake Lively looked stunning in a Gucci Première pale green silk georgette strapless gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Jessica Biel in a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown and pants of black macramé and tulle.

Gisele Bundchen showed a lot of leg in an asymmetrical black Anthony Vaccarello dress.

Emma Watson in a custom made asymmetric Prabal Gurung gown. Just Stunning!

Jessica Alba  in a custom made Tory Burch gown with a floral laser-cut leather detail and graphic cutouts.

Nina Dobrev embraced the theme of the night in a corseted top and tulle outfit by Monique Lhuillier.

Anne Hathaway in a black vintage Valentino dress from 1992.

Jennifer Lawrencein a black strapless Dior dress with a veil.

Donatella Versace
in a black patent leather dress of her own design (replete with spikes) said she was most looking forward to "my brother’s safety-pin dress," in the exhibition—the 1994 Versace dress made famous by Elizabeth Hurley.

Model Doutzen Kroes in a custom made Theyskens’ Theory dress sculpted from quilted leather and organza with a washed silk organza inner skirt and jewelry by Lynnban.

Miranda Kerr- The former Victoria's Secret model showed a lot of skin in a custom black crepe gown with a paillette bandeau by Michael Kors, Tabitha Simmons chandelier sandals, Cartier bracelets, ring and earrings, and a Christian Louboutin purse.

Kate Beckinsale in a rose-colored Alberta Ferretti dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Anna Wintour- The Vogue editor—and host of the evening—looked regal (and not remotely punkish) in an embroidered gown from Chanel's Spring/Summer 2013 Haute Couture Collection. "The curator of the exhibition, Andrew Bolton, told me that the color of punk is pink, so I'm in pink," she said.

Cameron Diaz in a bright blue Stella McCarney dress with an open back and a gold studded belt.

Nicki Minaj in a navy blue Tommy Hilfiger dress with cutouts.

Emmy Rossum in a one-of-a-kind Donna Karan Atelier platinum embroidered lace gown and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

Heidi Klum ina dreamy white strapless Marchesa dress with Harry Winston diamonds.

Emmy Rossum in the form of a glittering, Donna Karan Atelier gown and a messy, braided up-do.

Katie Holmes ina billowing white Calvin Klein dress by Francisco Costa.

Kelly Osbourne in a tiered Marc Jacobs dress with a canary yellow cummerbund with Brian Atwood courts.

Katy Perry in a mosaic tiled frock by Dolce & Gabbana… And a crown..

Stacy Keibler in a tough, pyramid-studded mini-dress by Rachel Roy.

Alexa Chung ’s peek-a-boo dress, made of sheer tulle and lace, was by Erdem.

Kylie Minogue in a monochrome Moschino ball gown.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - The statuesque model looked stunning in a Gucci black and gold gown with a netted tulle top embroidered with metallic sequins and a satin skirt.

Kirsten Dunst's Louis Vuitton dress had a striking feathered hem and plunging neckline.

Taylor Swift in a black dress by J Mendel with lace inserts. Her crimped hair and super-strong eye make-up give this look a punk twist.

Gwen Stefani in a custom made Maison Martin Margiela knotted top in satin with a white satin skirt.

Uma Thurman in an off-the-shoulder chartreuse gown by Zac Posen.

Olivia Wilde looked sleek in a cream, flesh-baring creation by Calvin Klein Collection.

Rita Ora in a faux-wrap, midriff-baring frock by Thakoon.

Jennifer Lopez in a custom black leopard sequin-embroidered gown by Michael Kors.

Nicole Richie in a white beaded column dress by Topshop, with Vero Cuoio shoes, a vintage silver Francesca Pepe ring, and a House of Harlow 1960 clutch. Her punk touch was a shock of light blue hair.

Karolìna Kurkova in a short one-shouldered dress by designer Mary Katrantzou and a black perforated Reece Hudson clutch.

Kim Kardashian in a floral turtleneck dress by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy—complete with gloves attached. Kanye West, also wore a complete look by Tisci.

Ashley Olsen-The more classic Olsen twin wore this marigold-colored vintage Dior caftan.

Mary-Kate Olsen-The pint-sized bohemian wore vintage pieces by Chanel.

Sarah Jessica Parker in a Philip Treacy mohawk headpiece, Gilles dress, Fred Leighton jewels, and Christian Louboutin custom made boots.

Beyoncé, the evening's co-chair, in a Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci long black skirt with flame motifs worn with matching printed cady thigh-high boots and high gloves, python leather corset, and python belt with gold eyelets. Sooo not!

Miley Cyrus in Marc Jacobs.

Madonna in a black and gray tartan jacket embroidered with silver metal studs and safety pins —and no pants!—also by Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci. She offset the look with Casadei pink suede pumps. The worst!
